Here I go again...

After a brief sojourn to Brazil and back, I am once again at home and with my nose to the grind (yeah, right). The trip was good and refreshing. And, save the minor setback on the way down of having missed our connecting flight in Brazil due to a one-hour delayed flight in Houston and thinking my parents were perhaps reduced to grease stains on a São Paulo city street, all went well.

For me it was good to be reminded that God is at work, both through and in spite of us. It was a blessing to meet and make new friends and a joy to reconnect with old ones. And it was delectable to get my fill of churrasco and Brazilian home-cookin'. :9

What have you all been up to?

Welcome back, Lorie! I'm leaving on Thursday to go visit the Todds in Adel, Georgia!! Nothing like leaving 105 degree weather and heading to more 105 degree weather. :)

Lorie: It was great to get to know you during our 10 days in Brazil, even though I didn't get a meal or wasn't able to watch video on the flight back!!!

Seriously, though, you come from a great family. And like you said, it was good to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.

Lorie, did you grow up in Brazil or live there for some part of your life?

Yep. We moved there when I was 11 and I came back for college. I've been back down regularly ever since. Why?

Well, welcome back. So you have your Brazilian home and your Texas home. Sounds great. I bet that Brazilian cooking was delicious.

Lorie, I have a dilema! No where in town (or in Long Beach) had the 2nd book in the series! They all have the 1st and the 3rd, but no 2nd! :( I'm totally bummed cause I wanted to take it to Scotland. But didn't you say you had another one I should read?? Let me know!

"I don't know where I'm going.
But I sure know where I've been.
Standing on the promises of the songs of yesterday.
But I've made up my mind --
I ain't wasting no more time.

So here I go again on my own.
Going down the only road I've ever known.
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone.
And I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams."

Camille, this was for you. This is what you've brought me to. This is the state I'm in. So thanks a lot, Camille.

Are you there? Honeybun?
